Description: A Maori woman smashing a tennis racket down over the shoulders of an elderly Maori man, with whom she has been playing tennis. She is cheered on by the umpire seated on his ladder and by others on the marae, including a dog and her puppies, a pig, a small goat (kid), birds and cats. A tennis net has been strung between a cabbage tree and a tapu symbol, there is a whare in the background and a bell close to European buildings.
