Description: Left half of a cartoon in two sheets; other half at B-156-130. At the left, two road workers frown as they look at the furrows gouged by trolley buses. At the right, workers at Rongotai Aerodrome discuss subdivision plans, in front of a hangar, with a rocket launch-pad in the background. Other Titles - \"One thing about trams, they used to break-up the roads just down the middle - these trolley buses do it all over\" Other Titles - \"I see that now that rockets don't need any runways they're going to sub-divide part of the 'drome into housing lots\" Date estimated as post Second World War. Description: The scene is an airport runway. Anchored offshore is a ship called 'Christchurch'. Hovering above the water is a helicopter towing a bag of money labelled $570,000. On board the ship are some figures firing at the helicopter trying to bring it down. On the runway the mayors of Christchurch and Wellington are leaping up and down calling "more! more! more!". Michael Fowler is holding a paper in his hand which reads 'Govt. development plan of W'gton airport'. Extended Title - Christchurch. May 27 (PA). - Christchurch city councillors lashed out today at the Government - and specially the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) - over the channelling of money away from Christchurch Airport. Description: Planning map of the area from Burnham Wharf to Evans Bay Road. Existing roads are named and a proposed road is marked on an area of reclaimed land. Rongotai Terrace is shown at the site of the proposed airport runway. Blocks of land are prominently colour coded and are referred to in extensive Certification of Title schedules which include total areas. A second Wellington Harbour Board schedule, by D.P. plan references, refers to each block of land. Includes a survey of the sea bed and the reclamation limit is marked, as is the low water mark. The boundary of the harbour bed vested in Wellington Harbour Board M3187 is marked. Area A, adjacent to Miramar Wharf and Aberdeen Quay, includes the the limit of the 1 in 7 batter cut. Topographic features are of slopes and a knoll. Calibar, Wrexford, Watford, Tirangi, Seatoun, Onepu, Wellington and Evans Bay roads are named, as are Salek, Te Whiti, Yule and Coutts streets, also Kilbirnie Crescent. An electric power station is marked adjacent to Watford Road and Salek Street.
