The identity of R A C is not known. A. W. Hands was in Sri Lanka as a young man. He arrived in New Zealand in 1880. Comprises group and individual portraits taken in unidentified locations, probably out of New Zealand. Includes interior and exterior views of unidentified airbases, showing barracks, training rooms, and airstrips. The subjects are all unidentified, except for a portrait of Reginald 'Reg' William Barker, a pilot for the RNZAF, who is photographed sitting in the cockpit of a fighter airplane. Contains a photograph of a man and woman at a wedding reception (taken by Royal Canadian Air Force photographer), which has written on the reverse: 'At reception in Tudor Room, Chateau Laurier Hotel, 9 September 1942' Includes a photograph of the grave of Sir George Stoddart Whitmore, in Napier Cemetery, Hospital Hill, Napier.
