Description: Photographs taken during the royal tour of New Zealand made by the Prince of Wales in 1920. Many of the images are of military inspections and displays by school children. There are also displays of Maori dancing and singing, the sailors of the HMS Renown, on which the prince had travelled , prior to their soccer match in Dunedin, the prince addressing the crowds etc. A number of the images are in two-part panoramas. Also included are four scenic photographs by the New Zealand Tourist Department which may have been taken in 1903. The photographer for the tour photographs was Guy. Description: Photographs of roads, public and historic buildings, Wairakei hydro-electricity, and timber processing mills, taken circa 1970s to 1980s, by Margo Mitchell and some by other unidentified photographers. Twenty of the photographs have captions on the back, which discuss the image (including construction details for roads and buildings) and include camera and film used; these images are possibly from a portfolio as part of study. Ten of the photographs have no identifying details. Some of the name details in the captions are mis-spelt. Architect of Holy Trinity, Lyttleton named as Mr G Malliuser is Mr George Mallinson. Renunga Deviation should be Rununga Deviation. Donor worked as a photographer for the Ministry of Works. Quantity: 27 colour original photographic print(s). 3 b&w original photographic print(s). Physical Description: Colour and black and white prints, some with board backing; various sizes. 15 Photographs have "AA" in a circle embossed on the bottom front right- hand corner and Five have "RA" embossed in a circle on the bottom right-hand corner.

Description: Transparencies of exteriors and details of public buildings taken by Geoffrey or Jocelyn Thornton. Mounts are annotated with the building name or type and location. Dates are sometimes annotated; photographer name is annotated infrequently. Title supplied by Library. Arrangement: Transparencies were arranged in three five-row, 30 slides per row, metal cases labelled "Public Buildings 1 North Is", "Public Buildings 2", and "Public Buildings 3". The arrangement was generally geographical from north to south in the first two cases and from south to north in the third, and from top to bottom of each row and from left to right in each case. Quantity: 345 colour original transparency/ies. Physical Description: Colour transparencies in plastic and cardboard slide mounts. Processing information: Slides have been removed from original container and put into archival pockets, following the original order, from left to right and top to bottom. Sheets containing fewer slides than the total number of pockets denote the end of the contents of an original container.

Description: Photographs taken by Albert Percy Godber, chiefly between 1934 and 1947, but including copies of some of his earlier photographs. Views include trips in the North and South Islands, and views of his home and family, especially in Whiteman's Valley Road and the area around Silverstream. Also various scenes of floods (Hutt River), and storm damage. Photographs associated with roads and railways include steam locomotives, tunnels, bridges and viaducts, some under construction. Among the trip photographs are views of Ngaruawahia, including King Koroki's house (opened in 1938) and the Maori Parliament House.
