Mobil Economy Run (Event)
An annual motor sport event designed to test speed and efficency of motor vehicles on public roads. Usually held as a long motoring route, the event took place every year from 1936 (except during World War Two) to 1968 in the United States. The Mobil Oil Corporation sponsored it and the United States Auto Club sanctioned and operated the run.
Also called the Mobilgas Economy Run. The event was also staged in South Africa, Australia, United Kingdom, France, Zimbabwe, Phillippines, Malaysia, and New Zealand.
