Description: Drawn on a cadastral base map, updated 21 August 1939, of the Lower Hutt industrial area, bounded by the Waiwhetu River and the Hutt River, the annotations show sections sold (in red) and sections open for selection (in green). The sections, numbered with acreages, are bounded by Bell, Gracefield, Park and Seaview Roads, and the railway line runs through the area. Areas sold include the names Wellington Concrete, Schweppes Ltd., ESW Paul, Millans West Australian Hardwoods, W Cable & Co., Winstones Roofing Tile Works, Acetone Illuminating & Welding Coy., Wellington Concrete Pipe Coy., Ford Motor Co., Hume Pipe Coy., Vacuum Oil Coy., Texas Oil Coy., British Australian Lead Manufacturers., Suburban Properties, CH Morley, WA Cairns. Shows the pre-reclamation river boundary on the Waiwhetu Pa boundary, proposed streets (one of which runs through the centre of Waiwhetu Pa), closed streets, the proposed surveyed reclaimed land, dwellings, and the Waiwhetu Stream. Land owners named include: H M King, E Price, E Corson, Hutt River Board, 'Natives', Public trustee. Cable & Co. Ltd., Acetone Illuminating & Welding Coy. Ltd., Wellington Concrete Pipe Coy., Ford Motor Co. of N.Z. Ltd., Hume Pipe Coy., Vaccuum Oil Coy., Texas Oil Coy., British Australian Lead Manufacturers Ltd., Suburban Properties Ltd. A railway easement and reserve are marked as are Railway Workshops. Includes drainage easements, sewers, septic tanks, pumping stations and watermains, some of which are referred to in a key.
