Dr Richard George Hampton, born in Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand in 1906, served as a Welfare Relief Officer at the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) in Warsaw, Poland, in 1946. Description: Interviews with six long-term members of the Tararua Tramping Club who reminisce about their experiences in the Club. The interviews cover their experiences tramping, mountaineering and skiing in New Zealand and overseas, as well as roles in the Club. Description: Four interviews with mothers and young Deaf adults, commissioned by the Northland Parents of Deaf Children Inc, and conducted by Tania Davidson. Interviewees are Leah Peterson (mother) and Alana Best (daughter); and Sabine Muller (mother) and Catherine Greenwood (daughter). The collection includes a written summary of the project and transcripts for the interviews, along with video interviews. The project was conducted in the participants' preferred language, New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL), and has been translated into English. An oral-visual history of New Zealand's early role in Antarctica

Description: Comprises interviews, combined with historical photographs and copied 8mm movie footage, of personnel who worked in Antarctica in the 1960s. Most are New Zealanders, including the first New Zealand woman to work there. Two interviewees (Dr Michael Holmes and Shaun Norman) worked for the British Antarctic Society (BAS) Programme before later settling in New Zealand. Dr Holmes, who was the unofficial vet, carried out research on infectious diseases. The New Zealanders, who worked mainly out of Scott Base, discuss undertaking a range of scientific and geological tasks including mapping the remaining unknown territories of Ross Dependency, conducting meteorological observations, field work observing fauna such as Adelie penguins and skuas, and technical support on the Base. General topics include: first impressions of landing on the ice, aircraft travel, life at Scott Base, long daylight during summer, wintering over, extensive use of dog sled teams, visiting historic explorer sites, staying in Scott's hut or Shackelton's hut, dangerous moments on the ice, the volcanic eruption on Deception Island, the overall impact of the Antarctic experience. Interviewees are: Alan Lewis Gough, Michael John Holmes, William Raymond Logie, Shaun Michael Norman, Rowland Haregrave (Rowley) Taylor, Euan Young, and Pamela Young.
