Description: The collection comprises correspondence between various members of the Hadfield family; most addressed to Frederick George Hadfield and his wife, Jessie, at Awaiti (Awaroa). Also includes school exercise book possibly belonging to Edith Reynolds or Edith Hadfield with transcript or original story, `The Renegade's daughter' and `The Far end of nowhere', church newsletters, greetings cards, some personal papers and other material. The correspondence deals largely with family matters and concerns, and includes some courtship letters from Frederick to Jessie, and letters from their son Nelson I Hadfield who served in World War II.
