Description: The papers relate to Luxford's career as an actress, 1920s-1930s, and later as a print and radio journalist, 1930s-1950s, as well as material on the ANZAC Club, the ANZAC Memorial Garden in New York, ANZAC Hour broadcasts, ANZAC Day commemorations and the British American Ambulance Corps, all of which she was involved with during WWII. Further material relates to Luxford's work with the fashion shows at Hotel Pierre, New York in the 1950s. There are also papers on her work with volunteer and charitable organisations from the 1940s, including certificates awarded to her. In 1996 Luxford's diaries and note books, and a collection of letters from the author Zane Grey, were added to the collection. In 1998, further diaries, newspaper cuttings and correspondence relating mainly to Nola's private and domestic life were donated by Ms Carole van Grondelle, who was using them as source material for her biography. Description: The original collection comprises three parts (1) material relating to a proposed biography of Pat Macaskill; (2) material relating to a proposed biography of Len Castle; and (3) personal papers of Leov Lealand, now arranged in series. The part of the collection relating to Pat Macaskill includes background information about both subject and biographer, his family and family letters, speeches and writings of Macaskill, and other material. The personal papers of Leov Lealand include correspondence, cards, photographs and other memorabilia. The material relating to Len Castle is of two types (a) relating to a proposed biography with correspondence and interviews and (b) the personal relationship between Leov Lealand and Castle. One box in the collection relates to personal memorabilia including photographs, clippings, correspondence and other papers; this is not further listed Also includes collection of diaries, journals, some personal papers and literary drafts. Also includes sound recordings which were transferred to Oral History and Sound from the Manuscripts collection in 1996. These include recordings relating to Pat Macaskill and Len Castle (comprising of interviews and personal recordings), as well as personal recordings between Leov-Lealand and Ian McCallum. The remainder of the collection description was not changed. The donor also identified some digital files which were processed and preserved in August 2020. The collection was updated to a multi-format collection in 2022 when audiocassettes, which were held by Oral History and Sound, were described as part of the Utaina project.

Description: The Paul & Diny Schramm collection reflects the lives and careers of two migrant musicians. The papers date mainly from 1887-1984; however early papers of the Soetermeer family dated 1794-1852 are included. Particular strengths of the collection lie in the music scores of works by Paul Schramm, the correspondence and the large number of newsclippings and programmes. The collection reflects musical life in Europe from the late 1890s to the early 1930s, the Schramm's musical activities in Indonesia ca 1934, their work in New Zealand, and Paul Schramm's subsequent move, career and death in Australia. However, in 1992, due to the Schramm centenary when articles, a concert and exhibition were planned, work began on arranging and describing the collection while the materials were being used by researchers and staff; this resulted in some resorting and renumbering of items. The collection is divided into thirteen series. The original order has been preserved where possible.
