Many scenes show aspects of life in Egypt; several views of the Handley Page V/1500 known as "Old Carthusian"; planes that have crashed; ships in Suez Canal; long convoys of horse-drawn gun-carriages; huge numbers of camels, and camel cavalry; groups of simple wooden crosses on battlefields, some of which have names and dates that are legible (names listed above); Chapelle de Matarieh; mosques and Coptic churches; and costume worn by different groups of Egyptian people. Description: Ink drawing shows a sailboat and a distant ship, probably at the port of Basra. The title is rendered ornamentally. This page also shows a newsclipping photo, taken by Frank Wade, titled" Sidelights on the New Zealand soldiers' activities in Egypt". It shows "New Zealanders having a spell after beating the Turks on the Sinai Peninsula; some of our boys visiting the mosques of Cairo". Francis McFarlane is marked with a cross below his feet. Alos includes an entry ticket for the Parc de Matarieh, an ostrich farm.
