Description: Photographs taken between1880 and 1979 of rangatira, tāngata Māori, and Māori communities and activities, along with a variety of photographs relating to taonga, wharenui, and toi whakairo. Also contains images of Māori on thirteen 'Three Castles Virginia Cigarette" cigarette cards, and hand sketched lithographs of facial moko designs. Some of the images are annotated on the reverse. Three photographs relating to Te Poho o Rangiahua meeting house in Frasertown, near Wairoa have the words 'On loan from Maori Affairs Dept' annotated on the reverse. Title supplied by Library.
