Description: Views of the Otago Region taken by unidentified photographers, circa 1870s to 1895. Many show buildings in Dunedin, including one house `Lisburn House' built for the Fulton family in 1865; also commercial buildings, church buildings, school buildings (Otago Boys' High School), and Dunedin Gaol. The church buildings include the Chapel in Leith Street, the Chapel in Great King Street, and the Baptist Chapel. Description: Photographs, chiefly taken by Sir Thomas Hunter, between 1939 and 1950. Many of the scenes show camping holidays, with camping sites at Whangamata (two holidays, January 13-29, 1939; and January 26 to February 16 1940), Gisborne, Wairoa, Napier, Palmerston North, Taupo, and Waikanae. The album is split in two, with half starting at one end, and the other half starting upside down at the other end of the album (tete-beche). Two photographs show Thomas Hunter with his son Irwin wearing army uniform, taken in 1940. Salmon album 7

Description: Photographs taken by John Tenison Salmon between 1933 and 1958. There are various sequences as follows: Museum trip to Lake Waikaremoana, December 1946; Holiday trip in 1937 which included Mohaka, Lake Waikaremoana and Urewera Country; Cass-Torlesse biological trip, February 1936; South Island trip, March 1939; and a Southern Lakes and Hollyford Valley trip in January 1940. The holiday trip in 1937 includes photographs of the Mohaka Viaduct under construction. At the beginning of the album a photograph shows Lake Waikaremoana after 21 years of deterioration due to state Electricity Department actions. This image was taken in January 1958, from approximately the same spot as one taken in February 1937. The Cass-Torlesse biological trip includes an image of "vegetable sheep" (page 48).
