Labelled features include Road to light house, Pararaki Riv[er], Swamp, To Mt Mathews, Sand hills, and Coast Line. The map imprint states "Palliser Bay Pararaki River Maori Site Surveyed 28th May 1959. Scale = 1" = 1 chain". Map includes a legend of stone mound symbols, transect line markings encompassing the site, and a quotation for a signature "AJG 1959", in the lower right hand corner of the map.
