Description: A hand-drawn manuscript map of an archaeological site in the Palliser Bay area, date surveyed 28th May 1959. The map shows both the location of the site and landform features. Labelled features include Road to light house, Pararaki Riv[er], Swamp, To Mt Mathews, Sand hills, and Coast Line. The map imprint states "Palliser Bay Pararaki River Maori Site Surveyed 28th May 1959. Scale = 1" = 1 chain". Map includes a legend of stone mound symbols, transect line markings encompassing the site, and a quotation for a signature "AJG 1959", in the lower right hand corner of the map.
