Description: Colour slides taken by Jeremy and Diana Pope, chiefly relating to the Maori Queen's visit to Ruatoria, 5-7 January 1968. Images feature the powhiri at Mangahanea marae, with the Maori Queen, Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu, and other manuhiri from Waikato coming onto the marae, as the challengers (including Sonny Waru and Whio Motu) perform the wero. Also included are kapa haka performers, a brass band, and spectators, including children. The wharekai and church are visible in the background. Also includes an image of the Ngata homestead 'Waiomatatini' and four images of Maori rock drawings at Murupara as well as a fifth image of Diana Pope looking through the fence at the drawings.
