Taken by Robert Percy Moore, possibly at a ceremony at which Mr W H George presented Wellington City with forty acres of native bush as a scenic reserve when he was leaving in 1923 or 1924 to live in Australia. Description: Survey map with cadastral information for 19 residential lots, a new road (Hugh Duncan Street), road dedications and a recreational reserve just north of the junction of the Haywards-Pahautanui Road and Western Hutt Road. Lots 1-8 and 10-18 front or have access to the new road, lot 9 fronts the Western Hutt Road and lot 19 the Haywards-Pahautanui Road. Houses are marked on lots 7, 9 and 18. A right of way is shown linking the recreational reserve to the end of Hugh Duncan Street. Approximate contour lines are drawn at intervals of five feet. A modified version of the plan, dated Nov 1949 and Apr 1951, was deposited in July 1953 (DP 15797). MapColl-832.47937gbbd/[ca.1949-51]/Acc.51544 is another version of the scheme.
