Description: Album recording a motoring and camping holiday through the South Island of New Zealand. This took in the New Zealand South Seas Exhibition in Dunedin and included the West Coast, Otago, and Canterbury. The central part of the album has images of Khandallah, Wellington, and the family home in that suburb. Family photographs include Doug on his Norton Motorcycle, and Jack and Neville similarly posed on a Douglas Motorcycle. Rene and Frank stand at the net holding tennis rackets, and mother has several images with young Joyce. The last part of the album recordes something of a holiday to Auckland where the family camped at Brown's Bay and took a trip to Kawau Island. A group shot on Mt Messanger on the way back and some views of Pukekura Park New Plymouth complete the album Quantity: 1 b&w original photographic print(s).

Description: Family photographs relating to the McCurdie family. Many are groups of friends and family, some of whom are identified with both Christian and surnames. These include wedding photographs of Marjorie Whitton who married J.W. Nicolls on March 31, 1921 at Oamaru, with Betty and Mary Whitton as bridesmaids. Several views of homes include Woodcroft (the home of Dr John Kinder), Werneth (a house at Atawhai, Nelson), The Moorings (the home of W. & Lucy Churchward at Springlands, Blenheim), and Stonycroft (home of Mr & Mrs Free, at Masterton). One view is of snow in Christchurch city in July 1918, and one shows decorations in the interior of Dunedin Hospital for the visit of the Prince of Wales in May 1920. Description: Photographs taken during the royal tour of New Zealand made by the Prince of Wales in 1920. Many of the images are of military inspections and displays by school children. There are also displays of Maori dancing and singing, the sailors of the HMS Renown, on which the prince had travelled , prior to their soccer match in Dunedin, the prince addressing the crowds etc. A number of the images are in two-part panoramas. Also included are four scenic photographs by the New Zealand Tourist Department which may have been taken in 1903. The photographer for the tour photographs was Guy. The image which is probably Timaru is identified in the negative accession register as Rotheram but this town is inland and near neither a lake nor a river therefore this is not likley to be correct. Description: Pamphlet describing the proposed Canterbury Court at an exhibition, possibly one in Dunedin for that year. The exhibits included a bird's eye view of the province painted by Mr Ronald Mackenzie, with an adjacent model of Caroline Bay. The map shows the Waimakariri Gorge with real water flowing through the Otarama Dam, and other aspects of the exhibits relate to sport, forestry, orchards, bees, agriculture, wool, prime lamb. There was to be an historical frieze of five panels showing the arrival of Captain Cook, hoisting of the flag at Akaroa, bullock teams at Riccarton Bush, the arrival of the pilgrim ships and the opening of the Christchurch-Lyttelton [rail] Tunnel. In three cases these are signed E N Webster, who advises that he arrived in Wellington 5 February 1918, and left 15 June 1922. During this period, as well as photographing Wellington and district, he travelled on holiday to New Zealand cities and tourist destinations. The photographs were taken between 1919 and 1921 judging from the prints that have dates. His second name was Norman, and this is the name he used to sign letters on postcards sent from Christchurch in 1919 to his mother, and a friend called May. There is also a note attached to an illustration of Ben Lomond in the collection on which he signs himself Norman Webster. In formation on the back of postcards indicate that he came from Australia, and in 1916 lived at Nambour, Queensland. Quantity: 148 b&w original photographic print(s).
