Description: The diaries give brief daily details of family and work activities. Source of title - supplied title Nicholas Rowe was born in Wanganui in 1861. His father arrived in New Plymouth on board the `Essex' in 1843 and began flaxmilling in the Lower Rangitikei area in 1870 until 1874 when he set up a sawmill on Rowes Line (just south of Sanson). It appears that Nicholas Rowe was also involved with this milling operation and later became a farmer in the area. Quantity: 1 folder(s). Description: Shows front and side elevations and ground floor plan of Westoe, William Fox's home near Marton, Rangitikei, built 1872. A key indicates the function of most rooms, apart from those on the right. A small sketch in the centre shows a couple, possibly intended for William and Sarah Fox, standing alongside a tall measuring device, perhaps to indicate the height of the house, relative to human height. Another figure stands alongside, holding a spear and gesturing in the direction of the house. The script and virtually indecipherable name of Tringham's draughtsman appear on this drawing, and on the nearly identical drawing at Plans-80-2280.
