Rakahuri Station homestead was renovated circa the 1980s and became the Okuku Country Estate which was sold sometime in the 2000s to become a home again. Situated at Fernside.

Description: Panoramic view of 'Rakahuri' homestead, a large two-storeyed concrete house with a slate roof. Curved bays left and right with an open sleeping verandah in the centre upstairs, pillars along a curved verandah downstairs on the right. Rose-beds in front and to the left of the house. Angled view shows the side of the house on the right. Curved drive through a stand of tall conifers. Bed of trees and shrubs in a bend of the drive. Large flat lawn in foreground. Poles for tennis nets on the lawn. Water tank at the back of the house on the right. Dovecote at the back of the lawn on the left. Clump of pampas grass in right foreground.
