Description: Recording made by Guy Broadley, of a world-premiere performance of Samuel Arnold's 1802 'Hymn of Adam and Eve' at Regent on Broadway, Palmerston North, on 10 November 2018. Guy Donaldson conducting The Renaissance Singers, Schola Sacra of Whanganui (director: Roy Tankersley) and Manawatu Sinfonia (leader: Gillian Gibb). Soloists: Pasquale Orchard, Lindsay Yeo, Shayna Tweed, Jennifer Little and Nigel Tongs. Part of the Archive of New Zealand Music. Eighteenth-century English composer Samuel Arnold wrote the oratorio shortly before his death, and the planned performance was cancelled. The full score surviving only in manuscript, this was discovered by New Zealand musicologist Robert Hoskins. Guy Broadley is a member of the Manawatū group, Renaissance Singers, who performed the world premiere of Samuel Arnold's 'Hymn of Adam and Eve' on 10 November 2018.
