Description: Brief and irregular journal entries from 28 Feb 1839 to 20 May 1841 describe life on ship, time spent in Sydney and details of the New Zealand coastal trade. Included at the back of the journal is a vocabulary of Maori words (3 pages), and miscellaneous notes, drafts of letters and accounts kept by Robinson. Source of title - Supplied Robinson sailed from Liverpool for Australia on 28 Feb 1839 on the `Heber' to trade in cotton and other goods. After a brief sojourn in Sydney he sailed for the Bay of Islands, arriving at Kororareka on 15 Jan 1841. He was involved in coastal trading between Bay of Islands, Coromandel and the East Coast.
