Description: Album of photographs taken by Albert Lyndsay McKenzie, showing Haywards substation, Centennial Exhibition, Union Airways aircraft at Rongotai airport, and views of war memorials, other monuments, some buildings and parks and gardens in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. There are also some scenic views of rivers and landscape, and one photograph of bee keepers at work on hives. Albert Lyndsay McKenzie, the father of the donor, was born in Christchurch. He started an apprenticeship as a process art engraver, which was interrupted by World War 2, and never completed. He returned to Christchurch after the war. Quantity: 1 album(s) Album(s).

Description: Transparencies of New Zealand landscapes, buildings, and events, 1958 to 1964. Taken by Ron or Angela Potts or Victor or Phyllis Boivin. Photographs show a railway bridge in the Manawatu, Evans Bay boatsheds, Rimutaka Hill Road, Foxton Beach, Wellington Harbour (ferry terminal and visiting Japanese ships), a cow grazing by Hutt Stream, Wairaki Power Station under construction. and the Savage Memorial at Bastion Point with a view of the Waitemata Harbour and Rangitoto Island. Also Māori rock drawings at an unidentified location. Building photographs include the interior and exterior of Old St Pauls, Wellington, and the exterior of Mansion House Kawau Island. The 1963 New Zealand Grand Prix in Pukekohe is also photographed. Title supplied by Library. Arrangement: Transparencies arrived in no discernable order. Description: Charles Hill-Trevor's personal album of the time he spent as personal secretary to Lord Ranfurly, Governor of New Zealand. It records the New Zealand contingents sent to the South African war and public events, personalities and patriotic entertainments associated with that enterprise. Visits to Government houses in Australia record other governors, officials and official residences. On one occasion in Melbourne a New Zealand versus Australia polo match was played. Hill-Trevor shows an interest in Māori, wildlife conservation (including the bird sanctuary on Resolution Island), and the sports of fishing, polo and horsemanship. There are photographs of members of the Ranfurly family and their principal servants as well as the Governor engaged in official functions such as opening the Kaiapoi council offices and laying the foundation stone of the Veterans Home, Mt Roskill, Auckland in 1903.
