Notes that his interest in fruit growing led his grandfather to Millers Flat and that he is still on this land. Mentions that he also leases land from ECNZ. Gives details of other family members. Describes how most of the orchard is in plums and apples which are sold at the gate and also go to the market. Discusses his interest in trout fishing in the Clutha River and hunting rabbit, deer and duck. Describes changes in the river since the Dunstan (Clyde) dam was built. Discusses the role of the Roxburgh dam. Describes the Millers Flat gymkhana and the local community. Notes the main employment is fruit growing and farming. Mentions local identities Jock Tulloch and the Fagan brothers at the store. Describes the flood in 1956 after the Roxburgh dam was built and the 1995 flood.
