Description: Survey map of the fence line along No.5 paddock of Taumahapu Station including the part which adjoins the road from Kereru to Tikokino. What appears to be a track runs alongside most of the fence. Accompanied by an envelope on which is written in pencil 'Distance new fence in No 5'. The envelope is addressed to 'A.G. Mowat, Esq., Taumahapu, Tikokino' and was franked at Napier on 8th December 1943. Description: Drawn on a base map of the Waipawa Borough, the annotations depict properties with block number, acreage, Crown grant reference numbers and names of purchasers. The properties vary in size from 10 to 30 acres, and are made up of several streets of suburban sized sections. The names are Robert Mixer Skeet, James Fougere, Thomas Dawson Triphook and Edward George Wright, Louis Noel Du Noyer, William Fannin, Frederick Sedgwick Abbott, Christopher Lockyer, Thomas Gill, Allan MacMaster, Algernon Gray Tollemache. See accompanying one page note entitled 'Schedule of persons who purchased from the Crown the lands comprised in the township of Waipawa'. Patangata Crown Grant District.' Lists block number, purchaser, purchase date, Crown Grant reference, and includes annotated note regarding donor and annotated corrections. An artesian well and substation are marked, as are pipes, house connections, scour valves, valves and proposed subdivision boundaries which are included in a reference key. Subdivisions are numbered. Four maps of Hastings City do not include the whole city but the changing boundaries Labels of certification which include a title, reference key and a measurement of total area in hectares were placed on three of the maps before photocopying. Description: Topographic map, with some described features, of the area from Mohaka Whaling Station following the coast to Cape Kidnappers to Porangahau, including the Rua Taniwha Plains, the Kaweka Range and the Mohaka River. Includes the South, Totara, Aorangi, Otapahi, Hapuka, Mohaka and Ahuriri blocks in Central Hawke's Bay, with acreages and marked boundaries. Mountains, rivers, swamps, bush and settlements are named. Native reserves and pa sites are marked, as are native paths, also horse and walking tracks and supposed courses of rivers. A Roman Catholic Mission is marked between Napier and Cape Kidnappers, as are some churches. Land belonging to Harawira and Te Waka, Aram, Moananui, Kranama is marked, as is land to be granted to Wi Turoa. Other names include Beer and Rigby. Note on map states 'copy of tracing lent by J.G. Wilson, Esq., Hautama' signed by G.R. and dated May 23rd 1931. It is possible that the tracing was lent to Dept of Lands and Survey, Napier Office where a copy was made but this is unconfirmed Some parts of map are difficult to read - the copy is not a good one Title taken from handwritten note mounted on left of original map signed by J.G. Description: Topographic map of the Ruahine Range including the Rangitikei River near Erewhon, the Mangamaire River, Ngaruroro River, Taruarau River and Makirikiri Stream which shows various tracks and huts. Includes named peaks, lakes, swamps, streams and creeks. Names of huts include Log Cabin (Parkinsons), Manson Hut, Peters Hut, Golden Hills Hut, Te Apunga (Kaimanua) Hut. Two areas are outlined and referred to in a key. The area surrounding Mount Tikitiki, near Owhaoko peak and Ngamatea Swamp, shows tracks and the site of a camp and a hut, tracks and the Woolwash.
