Sculptor. Born in Palmerston North; studied at School of Design, Wellington. Member of Wellington Repertory in 1963. Lived in London for 16 years, worked in a studio with other sculptors and painters. While there met Kenneth and Joan Armitage, and worked in their studio at Highgate. On return to NZ in 1980 she had several exhibitions. Sister of Chris Brooke-White. Lived in Oriental Bay, Wellington. A sculptor by training, in 2000 she ran her home as a bed and breakfast.

Description: Autograph book of Matron Evelyn (Eva) Gertrude Brooke. Entries date from her time as a nursing sister at Wellington Hospital and to her service as a military nurse during World War I in Samoa and on board New Zealand Hospital Ship 'Maheno' (1915-1916). Includes contributions from soldiers Matron Brooke treated, as well as fellow medical staff. Entries vary in length from names and dates to single page letters. Entries also include sayings as well as quotations from poems (including John Keats). One entry is in te reo Maori. Volume also contains three photographs showing palm trees in Samoa and a boat in Alexandria, Egypt.
