Architect of Wellington, and a partner of the firm Kelly and Mair. His rooms were in National Bank Chambers, Courtenay Place. He held the Australian architectural qualification, AAIA (Associate of the the Australian Institute of Architects). Electoral rolls show him as resident in Matai Road, Hataitai, in 1914, and at 14 Hataitai Road in 1916. One of his plans is of an Auckland building in 1933. He was living in Oriental Bay between the 1930s and 1949 and plans of Wellington buildings in the 1930s and 1940s are held by the Library. One plan, dated 1950, is for a house for himself in Tauranga. However, at the time of his death, he had become Brother Albert Kelly of the Futuna Retreat House in Wellington, possibly after the death of his wife Mary. He was the father of Lesley (Mrs J D Lang, Ngaio), Betty (Mrs N D McGoldrick, Blenheim), Joyce (Mrs H C McMullan, Ngaio), and Brian (See death notcies under both names in the Evening post, 8 January 1962, page 1, column b)..
