Wrote letter c/- Town Hall, Wellington, to A H Turnbull; wrote to Elsdon Best in 1916 while on active service at Tel el Kebir (Serial No. 12374). Died of wounds on 18 June 1917 at Ypres, Belgium. Son of James and Julia Freyberg, of Wellington.

He thanks Daisy for the Christmas cake she sent him which took 5 months to arrive and describes his present location in a French village behind the front lines as well as making general comments about his recent stint at the Front.
