Barker, Shirley, 1913-2001

Gained MSc in 1937, worked in the Botany Department at the Dominion Museum in 1939, at the Wallaceville Animal Research Station from 1940-1943, and 1954-1959; gained her Diploma of the New Zealand Library School in 1939. Worked then at Victoria University Library, rising to the position of Head of the Periodicals Department as an Associate Librarian. Wrote letter from Wellington in 1944. Married to A J D Barker. See Who's Who in New Zealand Libraries (1975).
