Description: Family photographs of the Barnes family featuring the homestead Terewhiti and the following family members: Henry, Walter Ernest (Ernie - at various ages), Mary, Julia (Ernie's wife), Ernie's son Thomas, Lorraine, and Leslie. Also included are scenic views; scenes of mustering and shearing on the farm; Ernie and others in First World War uniforms; a burned down house; soldiers at Trentham camp eating a meal outside their tent (as a postcard signed by George McDermott to his brother and sister Alice and Bill); Lorraine Barnes taking part in a recording of the radio show The Quiz Kids as a member of the Hutt Valley team (The Quiz Kids was introduced by Selwyn Toogood in the 1950s); results of a national election being monitored on a wall chart ca 1930s; Ernie Barnes as captain of the Wellington Telephone Exchange Cricket Club; and two of officers and soldiers from the Second World War. Description: Photographs relating to Harry Unwin and his family, circa 1930s to 1950s. Taken by a range of mainly unidentified photographers. - Images include unidentified women, babies, and children. One girl is identified as Sandra. Some images also include animals (such as a lamb, kitten, and dogs). One image of a girl holding a puppy is hand-coloured. - Contains a number of images of Marjorie Spiers Millar of New Plymouth, including a portrait which she has sent to Unwin. Spiers is also photographed with Unwin and in a group portrait where she appears with young boy Ray and [family?] group. Spiers has also sent Unwin an image of a boy Ray [Unwin's son Raymond?] on a bicycle. Also contains a series of images of weddings, including that of [Noelene?]. These show the couple, Ray with the bride, the arrival of the wedding party at the church, the couple leaving after the ceremony, and the reception (including the wedding cake). Also photographs of two other weddings (one of which is in Melbourne) and a series of an unidentified elderly couple's 50th wedding anniversary (with cake and guests). Also two photographs from a funeral. - Other photographs are of mainly unidentified couples and groups, with Unwin appearing in a few of the images.
