City Hotel (Wellington, N.Z.)

Listed in Wise's Post Office Directory (1887-88) as being on the corner of Clyde Quay and Marjoribanks Street, proprietor G W Taborl. In 1888 proprietor was P. O'Shea. Street names changes so that it was later listed as being on the corner of Kent Terrace and Majoribanks St, Wellington, circa 1924. Name transcribed from image of 1/2-051831. The New City Hotel was designed by F H Swan, and built on the same site in 1939.
