Giese, Dick, 1925?-2010

Principal Flute of the National Orchestra from March 1962 until his retirement from the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) in August 1986, after 24 years in that position. He was the first American to join the orchestra. Taught Marya Martin who studied flute performance at Auckland University before she did her postgraduate study in New York. Marya Martin travelled to Wellington for lessons with Dick.
