Description: An eight-page ship's newspaper. The editorial by Pearse suggests this will be the last issue, for lack of interest. A story called 'The dilemma' is continued from the last issue on page 2-3; page three continues with a satirical letter to the editor about borrowing a pair of candle snuffers; p 3, 4 and 5 continue an article about Mexico, signed by Juan; p. 5 continues with references to the philosopher Thales and to poetry, and other snippets of information, followed by a covering note from 'The emigrant' on p 6. Page 6 continues with 'Six years in the colonies' by a 'near relation' of Rear Admiral Dacres about his ship voyage in 1842 from England to Madeira and Rio di Janeiro - to be continued. On p 7, the ship's doctor advertises the loss of his snuff-box; p. 7-8 tells of the attempt of passengers to catch a shark from the ship.
