Atack, William Harrington, 1857-1945

Christchurch journalist. Son of William Atack, a painter and brother of Walter Garwood Atack. Arrived in Canterbury with his parents on the `Cresswell' in Sep 1859. Brilliant academically, he joined the staff of the `Lyttelton Times' in 1875 and left in 1885. Active in local cricket clubs.
