Charles II, King of England, Scotland and Ireland, 1630-1685

Date of his reign given as dating from the execution of his father in 1649. However the Parliament of Scotland proclaimed Charles II King of Scots on 5 Feb 1649 in Edinburgh. From 3 Sep 1651, was in exile in Europe. On the Restoration in 1660, all legal documents were from 1649
