Description: Four scenes involving athletes bothered by flies. A team march-past is described as a fly-past with swarms of flies at head-level. A starter accidentally shoots himself in the face and lets off a can of fly-spray above his head. Three men receiving medals complain because the winner with his laurel wreath has an additional problem of greenfly around his head. Description: In the first of two vignettes a crowd roars and a commentator announces that Peter Snell has set a new world record. In the second vignette Peter Snell is presented with a banner by a representative from the N.Z. Trade Commission that he is to wave as he reaches the tape so that the world will be aware of New Zealand mutton. In January 1962 Snell broke the world mile record before a huge crowd at Cooks Gardens in Wanganui, and one week later set new world records for both the 800 m and 880 yd at Christchurch. He then won gold and set a new record for 880 yd at the Commonwealth Games in Perth in 1962, and won gold for the mile at those same games. Quantity: 1 original cartoon(s).
