With her husband Joseph Mitchell Huggan (1897-1957), they were textile workers, storekeepers, community leaders, local politicians. Description: Papers of Mrs Huggan while she was mayor of Petone. Mainly papers relating to the Petone Borough Council, including agendas, minutes, reports, correspondence etc of the committees on which she was active, clippings, and other papers. Also included are files relating to the reorganisation of local government, and papers of the Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council and Hutt Valley Patriotic Welfare Committee. Also included is a scrapbook compiled by Joseph Huggan, 1931-1955, relating to Korokoro and to his time as mayor (from 1950). Pre-1957 Petone Borough Council papers relate to his time as mayor. Source of title - Supplied Annie Huggan was mayor of Petone (1957-1965) taking over from her husband, Joseph, who died in 1957. He was mayor of Petone, 1950-1957.
