New Zealand cartoonist. He joined the New Zealand Herald Art Department in 1967. Contributed cartoons to Auckland University student newspaper and capping magazine. Exhibited paintings, drawings and sculpture in early 1970s. Later, co-edited and contributed to `Strips' magazine. In 1987 under the name `Klarc' became the NZ Herald's daily editorial cartoonist (till 1996, then weekly till 2000). As at May 2020, he was producing a weekly Saturday cartoon for the Northern Advocate. His comic strips and political cartoons published and exhibited in New Zealand and overseas.

From 2009, the cartoons appeared on Saturdays in the Northern Advocate, and some also appeared in the local Whangarei publication, 'Scene.' Part of the NZ Cartoon Archive Laurence Clark, born 1949 in Whangarei, is a New Zealand cartoonist and illustrator. Clark started his career in illustration in 1967 at the New Zealand Herald, and worked as the daily political cartoonist there from 1987 to 1996, and then published weekly in the Herald until 2000, when he began freelancing from his Whangarei studio. Clark publishes his cartoons under the name of 'Klarc'.
