Description

Object made up of a Mordon & Co. portable copying press and a copy book. The press includes the cover with cast iron clasps, instructions for use, the copy book, Zuccato papyrographic paper and board required to make copies. The previous owner, artist Benjamin Aylett Branfill, has written his name on the inside cover of both the press and copy book.

The book contains copied correspondence of Colonel Branfill, which date from 20 January 1880 to 12 December 1880. Letters are addressed to his wife, children and business contacts. Much of his writing appears to be on the subject of Christianity and the Bible.
