- Description
A group of photographs taken by Jock Phillips and Chris MacLean which depict New Zealand war memorials relating to the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902 (or South African War or Boer War).
Slides are annotated with the name of the war or conflict and a location. Includes slide photographs taken of black and white photographs taken circa 1920s which relate to the war memorials.
Record title is taken from the common title on the labels on the original slide boxes.
Arrangement: Photographs were delivered in ten small slide boxes which were labelled "Boer War" then a number, a list of locations, and "Chris Maclean + Jock Phillips". The boxes were numbered one to nine (there were two boxes numbered '4'). The original arrangement of name of the war, number, and name(s) of locations has been preserved by the archivist.
Jock Phillips and Chris MacLean took many photographs of the war memorials while travelling throughout New Zealand by car.

Processing information: The photographs have been removed from the original slide boxes for conservation reasons and rehoused in archival enclosures.
