Black and white poster shows an arrangement of text describing "modern well appointed steamers 8000 to 13000 tons gross register, with wireless, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd class accommodation, good table and moderate fares. The text is arranged around a map of associated companies' shipping routes around the world, and an illustration of a porrait of a Maori chief dressed in a cloak, twofeathers in his hair, full face moko, and carrying a patu. The illustration is signed by British artist H G Gawthorn.
