Ngā Tau e Waru, centennial celebrations, 22 March 1981
All images were taken at the centennial celebrations of whare nui Ngā Tau e Waru at Te Ore Ore marae, Masterton, on 22 March 1981. Ans Westra has focused on individuals and groups attending the celebrations. Several children are climbing and swinging in a tree (frames 1 to 3); two men are standing outside a marquee (frame 4); several young men and women are sitting on a bench seat outside, with the focus on a young woman with her baby on her lap (frames 5 to 11). She is sitting next to a young man with a transistor radio on his knee (frames 10 & 11). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
