- Description
Scenes at the Avondale Racecourse at the New Zealand Polynesian Festival, in February 1981. In all views Ans Westra has focussed on people of different ethnicities, particularly Māori and pākeha individuals or small groups. She was looking up at spectators standing in front of the grandstand, or seated in the grandstand. Several young Māori children are eating sweet corn on the cob (frames 6 to 10). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
