Scenes at the Avondale Racecourse at the New Zealand Polynesian Festival, in February 1981. All images are views of individuals and groups of men, women and children at the foot of the grandstand, or sitting in the grandstand, watching events. They include several views of a woman with her young son (frames 1 and 3 to 10); an older man sitting in front of a number of women (frame 11); and a woman with her arms around her small son who is wrapped in a rug (frame 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
