- Description
Scenes at the Avondale Racecourse at the New Zealand Polynesian Festival, in February 1981. Some views were taken beside the racecourse with men, women and children on bench seats or seated on the grass (frames 1 to 3); others taken on seats in the grandstand in front of a sign which reads "Judges only" (frames 4 to 10), of which images 6 & 7 show people eating slices of water melon; and two young men lying down relaxing on seats below the sign (frames 8 to 10). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
