Description

A three-quarter head-and-shoulders portrait of the Hamilton artist Ida Carey, possibly during the 1940s, when she would have been in her 50s. She wears her hair fashionably for the time, with long drop earings visible below. She wears a necklace of gold-coloured beads and the colour of her dress and shawl match that of the neclace and earrings. She has a neutral expression, looking off to the viewer's left.
