Comprises small cardboard cover photograph album containing scenes of New Plymouth. Taken by unidentified photographer(s) on Easter 1927 during a family visit by Hazel C Vaughan (nee Jackson). Probably some views were taken by Hazel. Photographs show scenes around New Plymouth and include: views of Pukekura Park and the Poet's Bridge; Kawaroa Park; and buildings on Courtenay Street including the 'Round house' and other buildings in New Plymouth. The album also includes photographs of battle sites and war memorials for the New Zealand Wars (referred to in the album as the Maori Wars) and the South African Boer wars.
Album also includes images of indentified people in and around New Plymouth, and shows an scene from a rugby game at Pukekura Park, images of St. Mary's Church, and views of rural countryside, possibly a family homestead, described in the album as 'Old farm', paddocks, and school house. Album also includes an image of boating on the Mokau River, and a view of the bridge.
The album is annotated by Hazel C Jackson (later Vaughan).

Provenance: Ruth was neighbour of Hazel Vaughan when she lived in Khandallah. Offered to Ruth by Hazel's daughter Barbara when Hazel entered nursing home in 1999.
