Shows President Barack Obama seated at his desk with headphones on. An assistant reads a paper with the headline 'Merkel furious' and says "Mr President, you're getting a heap of criticism from abroad." Obama replies "That broad!! You should listen to what she's saying about me in private!" The cartoonist uses the pun to refer to spying revelations around the activities of the US NSA (National Security Agency). It has been revealed that the NSA tapped German Chancellor Angela Merkel's cell phone for many years, an activity she has publicly condemned as "not acceptable". See Stuff, 25 October 2013.
