In a display hall a man is looking at a list, which stretches down the hall, of the 'Most trusted Kiwis'. First, second and third are Sir John Kirwan, Willie Apaiata and Richie McCaw. The attendant tells him that if he is looking for politicians 'you're at the wrong end of the room'.
In the Readers' Digest poll, published in June 2013, of the most trusted New Zealanders, Sir John Kirwan, Willie Apaiata and Richie McCaw topped the list for the third year in a row. All politicians came well down the list.
