Description

Letter to Cowan from Alf Warbrick [Alfred Patchett Warbrick], the Ngati Rangitihi boatbuilder, rugby player and tourist guide, written in 1937 from King George Hospital in Rotorua.

A letter from K Pihama dated 1937/38 about some songs or waiata that Cowan had sent her including 'Whakapukepuke'. Also mentions Kehu [aka Chadwick] and his children Wenerata Kehu and Waikura Bell, and grand-daughter Reremoana Bell.

A letter from C H Crawford written in 1939 from Papatoetoe, mentions that he grew up in Sumner and would visit Rapaki often to attend church and remembers Hone Taare Tikao and Paora Taki.

A letter from I Warbrick and D Sewell written in 1941 mentioning their gratitude at Cowan's financial contribution towards a memorial for a memorial [possibly for Alfred Warbrick].
