Comprises log of Fleetwood Buckle, surgeon of HMS Liverpool on its circumnavigation of the world 1870; selections from the papers of Sir James Cantlie, relating to mixed race peoples in Australia and New Zealand; papers on tropical medicine, a cookery book by Jane Foster, containing some medical recipes, ca 1739-1794; papers of John Murray Gibbes and Edward Morell Holmes, on evolution and properties of eucalyptus oil respectively; notebooks and logs of the marine zoologist Dennis Lillie, kept while on Scott's `Terra Nova' expedition to the Antarctic 1910-1913.
