Original caption reads: "Jenny Johnson of Wellington was one of many midwives around the country celebrating last night's passage by Parliament of the Nurses Amendment Bill. The Act enables midwives to deliver babies without a doctor's supervision, and to prescribe some drugs." (Evening Post, 23 August 1990)
